Competition Rules
 

I/C Duration

  1. Timed climb from ROG, time to be decided on the day, shut off engine.
  2. Timed glide to spot land in box.
  3. Winner will have the highest total score from two rounds.
  4. All pilots can have helpers or instructors.
  5. Model can be any I/C engined plane.
  6. 10% additional score for touchdown in the box.
  7. Non A or B cert flyers will get a 20% bonus.

Bomb Drop

  1. Each aircraft is to carry a water/sand filled balloon.
  2. This "bomb" is to be dropped onto a marked spot from a set height to be decided on the day.
  3. The distance from the spot is to be measured and recorded.
  4. The winner will have the minimum total distance from two rounds.

Scale

  1. The model may be scale, or semi-scale.
  2. The model will fly the BMFA regulation schedule.
  3. Marking will be by two judges.
  4. The winner will have the highest total points from two rounds.

Scramble

  1. All pilots will have a helper.
  2. The helper will place the model in the start box.
  3. The clock will be started before the engine may be started.
  4. The model will be started and normal safety checks completed before take off.
  5. The model will take off, do a loop and land in a designated box. The engine will be cut and the model retrieved to the pilot box. The clock will now be stopped.
  6. The helper may retrieve the model.
  7. The winner will have the shortest total time over two rounds.
  8. The time will be void if the model is taxied after landing.
  9. Non A or B cert flyers will get a 20% bonus.

Open Thermal Glider

  1. Aircraft wingspan is unlimited.
  2. The launch method will be bungee.
  3. Only one bungee is to be used.
  4. 10 minutes maximum with one minute to get down. Any time over will be deducted from the score.
  5. The winner will the flyer with the best total time taking the best two of three rounds.
  6. The Andrews Cup will be awarded to the flyer with the best total time for all three rounds.

Slope

  1. Competitions will be decided on the day to suit the conditions.
  2. The winner will be the highest total score from two rounds.

3 Maneuvers/Spot Landing

  1. Pilot will have a helper.
  2. Any powered aircraft may be used.
  3. Model is to be placed in the start box.
  4. The flight is timed from takeoff to landing.
  5. Each round is:- Take off, Do 3 loops, 3 Rolls and 3 Spins in any order and land in the designated box.
  6. Add 100% penalty for not landing in the box.
  7. The winner will the flyer with the lowest total time over two rounds.

Electric Duration

  1. The maximum time allowed for the first round will be 30 minutes.
  2. Any powered aircraft may be used.
  3. Model is to be placed in the start box.
  4. The flight is timed from takeoff to landing.
  5. Each round is:- Take off, Do 3 loops, 3 Rolls and 3 Spins in any order and land in the designated box.
  6. Add 100% penalty for not landing in the box.
  7. The winner will the flyer with the lowest total time over two rounds.
